Everything is within walking distance: supermarket, post office and many shops selling a variety of merchandise. Parikia has many popular cafes, bars and restaurants and is lively during the summer months. There are also many beaches on the outskirts of Parikia; which can be reached by foot or a small boat service operates regularly during summer from Parikia's port, or of course, they can be reached alternatively by car or bike. There is a regular bus service from Parikia's centre with connections to all parts of the island. To reach the island's airport will take a 20 minutes by car.
